The Index is a subset of the FTSE Developed Index (the “Parent Index”) and aims to measure the performance of companies in developed countries as defined by the Index Provider. On an annual basis, the Index Provider applies sustainable exclusionary criteria and weights companies in order to reduce the exposure in the Index to companies with higher carbon emissions and fossil fuel reserves and to improve the exposure in the Index to comply with favourable FTSE Russell environmental, social and governance ("ESG") ratings compared to that of the Parent Index.
