Wall Street Aims To Bounce Back
(RTTNews) - Early trends on the U.S. Futures Index suggest that Wall Street might open higher. Asian shares finished mixed, while European shares are trading positive.
The Fed's monetary policy decision is likely to be in the spotlight this week. Reports on retail sales, industrial production, import and export prices and housing starts also might get attention.
As of 8.20 am ET, the Dow futures were up 119.00 points, the S&P 500 futures were adding 19.75 points and the Nasdaq 100 futures were progressing 53.50 points.
The U.S. major averages finished finished lower on Friday. The Nasdaq ended the session up 98.03 points or 0.4 percent at 22,141.10. The Dow, on the other hand, slid 273.78 points or 0.6 percent to 45,834.22 and the S&P 500 edged down 3.18 points or 0.1 percent to 6,584.29.
On the economic front, the Empire State Manufacturing Index for September will be issued at 8.30 am ET. The consensus is for 4.3, while it was up 11.9 in the prior month.
Three-month Treasury auction will be held at 11.30 am ET.
Six-month Treasury bills auction will be held at 11.30 am ET.
Asian markets finished mixed on Monday. China's Shanghai Composite Index declined 0.26 percent or 10.09 points to finish trading at 3,860.50. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.63 percent higher at 13,005.77.
The Japanese benchmark Nikkei 225 Index rallied 0.89 percent to close at 44,768.12.
The Hang Seng Index of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange climbed 0.22 percent to finish trading at 26,446.56.
