May 2014

In summary:

  • Russian GDP grew by 0.9% year-on-year in the first quarter, according to today's flash estimate, slightly better than City expectations of 0.7%.
  • This marks a sharp fall from the 2.0% growth recorded in the fourth quarter of 2013, and suggests the situation in Ukraine is having a significant economic impact.
