Voltabox Presents New Applications for Electric Commercial Vehicles at the IAA in Hanover, Germany

- The Voltabox product portfolio is rapidly penetrating the booming commercial vehicles market - premiere of an electric pump unit for milk collection technology of the Schwarte Group

- Electronic wheel loader from Schäffer for use in the agriculture and farming on display at the Voltabox booth

- Lithium-ion starter battery is ready for use in commercial vehicles

- Presentation of a lithium-ion battery module based on pouch cells

- Press conference on September 20, at 11.15 a.m. at the Voltabox booth

Delbrück, Germany, September 13, 2018 - Voltabox AG [ISIN DE000A2E4LE9] will be represented again at this year's IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover with its own booth (hall 13, stand no. E10) and highlight the company's progress in the customized electrification of vehicles with the widest variety of application profiles.

The world's most important trade fair for transportation, logistics and mobility, which is being held this year from September 20 to 27, features the motto "Driving tomorrow." In addition to the topics of networking, digitalization and autonomous driving, there will be a particular focus on e-mobility. In the broad application range for the electrification of commercial vehicles with special requirement profiles, Voltabox has carved out a leading market position for itself as a pioneer. It will be possible to experience the future of mobility already today at Voltabox's booth at this year's IAA. The company presents intelligent solutions for electrification, illustrating the market-influencing dynamic of increasing e-mobility in industrial applications.

Voltabox has electrified a complete pump drive unit for the Schwarte Group, a vehicle manufacturer and solution provider of vehicle structures for milk collection technology. Both the battery system and the powertrain for pumping milk into and out of the designated container have been developed by Voltabox in the form of a complete solution and tailored to customer requirements. The complete system is being presented to the international public for the first time at IAA Commercial Vehicles.

The e-wheel loader from Schäffer, which was already presented at Agritechnica 2017, will also be on display at the Voltabox booth. It is the first vehicle of its kind with lithium-ion technology. This technology enables operators not only to reduce exhaust emissions, but also to achieve significant savings in maintenance and operating costs. In the example of the wheel loader, this is primarily attributable to higher efficiency and much lower energy costs per hour of operation compared with the predecessor diesel models. The battery system of the e-wheel loader can be charged, for example, with self-generated energy from biogas and photovoltaic systems.

Furthermore, Voltabox is displaying major components of its own modular kit, which may be obtained in various voltages and with different climate controls, among other options. These include the NMC modules (cell chemistry: nickel-manganese-cobalt) for use in forklifts and in automated guided vehicles. The product portfolio on display also includes LFP modules (cell chemistry: lithium-iron-phosphate) and LTO modules (cell chemistry: lithium-titanate-oxide), which are used, for example, in trolleybus battery systems. Voltabox is also exhibiting the particularly powerful pouch module at IAA Commercial Vehicles. The pouch cells used in this battery are distinguished by very high energy density and their tremendous flexibility for installation in a given assembly space.

Voltabox will be available to media representatives with a team accompanying CEO Jürgen Pampel on Wednesday, September 19, the press day before the start of the trade fair for trade visitors. In addition, Jürgen Pampel and Manfred Schmidt, Vice President Sales, invite media representatives to a press conference on September 20, the following first day of the trade fair, at 11:15 a.m. at the Voltabox booth (hall 13, stand no. E10).
