The fund aims to generate a total return. The Fund will seek to achieve its investment objective through a combination of income and capital growth from a portfolio of primarily fixed and variable rate debt securities issued by financial institutions with minimum capital requirements, such as insurers and banks. The Investment Advisor will focus on investing primarily in bonds issued by such institutions that are at the lower end of their capital structure and in particular on contingent capital bonds, also known as contingent convertible bonds (“CoCos”). CoCos are lower down in a financial institution’s capital structure (rank below standard debt securities, but above common stock/equities) in the priority of claim on the institution’s assets.
