Climate protection at the front door – dormakaba makes it possible
dormakaba Holding AG
/ Key word(s): Product Launch
Rümlang, 13 January 2025 – At the BAU 2025 trade fair in Munich, dormakaba is presenting MotionIQ, an innovative technology that significantly reduces energy loss through automatic doors. Thanks to precise door control, MotionIQ minimizes the time that doors are held open and, depending on the application scenario, enables energy savings of up to 50% compared to standard solutions. This also contributes to reducing a building's carbon footprint. An assessment of the savings potential for each use case is made possible by dormakaba’s Door Efficiency Calculator, a scientifically validated tool that provides architects and building planners with reliable data for sustainable decisions. The construction and real estate industry plays a central role in achieving climate targets, as building materials and operations worldwide are responsible for around 40% of global CO2 emissions. The energy balance of buildings, which depends on numerous factors and the products installed, significantly influences this. This is where dormakaba comes in, significantly contributing to optimizing energy efficiency with innovative solutions. MotionIQ: intelligent doors for greater energy efficiency Compared to conventional door activation sensors, MotionIQ reduces the unused open time of doors by up to 50%. The result: significantly reduced energy loss, lower operating costs and CO2 emissions, an extended door life, and safer operations. MotionIQ, which was previously only available for swing doors, is now also available for automatic sliding doors and will be shown for the first time at BAU 2025 together with the automatic energy-saving sliding door ST PRO Green, which has fine-framed, thermally separated profiles.
