Sandvik acquires US-based CAM reseller FASTech

Sandvik has acquired the assets of FASTech to strengthen its position in the computer aided manufacturing (CAM) market and further build on its capabilities to serve customers.According to Sandvik, FASTech will be a part of the business unit holding Mastercam, the the world’s leading CAD/CAM software provider. Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions will assume posting of FASTech.Stefan Widing, CEO of Sandvik, said: “This acquisition supports our strategic direction to grow in the digital manufacturing space, strengthens our regional presence, and enhances our ability to help our customers.”FASTech serves manufacturing customers in the midwestern United States. Company officials emphasized the acquisition will have limited impact on Sandvik’s EBITA margin and earnings per share. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.The multinational company historically has a record of important acquisitions. Tracxn, a cloud-based market intelligence platform, stated in 2025 that Sandvik has completed 94 acquisitions with an average acquisition amount of $399 million. Its most active year was 2021 with 12 acquisitions. These acquisitions span over 23 countries, mostly in Germany and United States.Prior to FASTech, Sandvik’s most recent acquisition was of Universal Field Robots. The Australian-based company is a provider of autonomous field robots. Sandvik acquired it in August 2024.FASTech was founded in 1988 and is currently headquartered in Findlay, Ohio.Sandvik is a globally renowned high-tech engineering company. The company specializes in products and services for mining, rock excavation, rock drilling, rock processing (crushing and screening), metal cutting and machining.
