SKAN completes acquisition of Metronik

Allschwil, 4 August 2025 – The SKAN Group, world market leader for high-quality isolator systems for aseptic production processes in pharma and biotech industry, has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Metronik d.o.o., which was announced in May.

Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Ljubljana, Metronik is one of the leading providers of software solutions for manufacturing digitalization including Manufacturing Execution System (MES), digital integration services and automation solutions for the highly regulated life sciences industry.

A perfect match for SKAN

With the acquisition of Metronik, the SKAN Group not only secures industry-leading MES software but also a core building block for the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Metronik’s software platform serves as the digital backbone of modern pharma production environments and meets the highest standards in the strictly regulated GMP setting.

What sets the Metronik software apart is its modularity, which enables deployment of various application scenarios, resulting in ability to manage complex manufacturing environments, digitalize diverse manufacturing processes and integrate different manufacturing equipment into a powerful digital system. This enables the complete digitization of formerly manual operations and paper-based workflows – a leap forward in terms of efficiency, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.

For SKAN, this marks a significant strategic step: The combination of aseptic core competencies with advanced digital process integration creates added value for customers around the globe. Together with Metronik, SKAN is becoming a holistic solution provider across the entire pharmaceutical value chain – from isolator technology and automation to fully digitalized and integrated manufacturing process.

Strong operational foundation and immediate value contribution

Metronik employs more than 160 highly skilled people and generated revenues of over EUR 25 million in fiscal year 2024. Already in the current financial year, the acquisition is expected to contribute positively to SKAN Group’s earnings per share. Metronik will be integrated into the Services & Consumables segment, further strengthening segment sales and profitability in line with SKAN’s strategic priorities.

SKAN Group acquired 76% of Metronik. 24% remain with the existing management team, which will continue to lead the company operationally.
